The gear type pumps have only two moving parts.  Therefore, positive displacement gear pumps are more reliable, efficiently operated and easy to maintain. Sealing is established by soft or mechanic gaskets and special seals. These are being used for pharmaceutical and food industry, gas stations to pump liquids such as fuel oils.
